Silex Microsystems Welcomes Dr. Börje Åstrand – VP of Operations

Silex Microsystems announced the recent addition of Dr. Åstrand as the head of Silex new production facilities in Järfälla, Sweden. He joins Silex Microsystems from Xaar, where he has served as manager of the manufacturing engineering group. Dr. Åstrand has over 30 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of semiconductor devices including application specific silicon semiconductors, power semiconductors, and tunable laser component for optical network. He has held numerous engineering and management positions with large international companies including ABB Hafo, MITEL and ADC. Dr. Åstrand has a doctorate in physical electronics from Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
